The plant has a bush growth habit with a low stature and wide spread. Thin greenish-purple stems are covered with pubescence and have moderate branching. Leaves are alternate, distinguished by an oval shape with a cuneate base and deep serrations along the margins.

Flowers are gathered in racemose inflorescences and directed laterally. The upper lip of the flower has a uniform color, while the lower lip is multicolored: the base tone is combined with a characteristic "eye" and dark streaks. The flowers lack fragrance.
