The variety Wesstar, also known under the trade name Lobelia STAR™ Blue Star, belongs to the hybrid lobelia type of the Star series. The plant has a semi-trailing habit, characterized by relatively late flowering and the formation of single flowers.

The plant is used primarily for pot and container gardening. The variety is distinguished by a compact and neat bush shape, which maintains inflorescence density and shoot integrity during transport and under retail conditions.
