The crop is annual and is distinguished by very rapid development after sowing, as well as early heading. Morphologically, the plants are characterized by a low leaf-to-stem ratio. The produce has good palatability for livestock, and the dry matter content is somewhat higher than that of a number of breeding varieties of the same species.
Yield as a primary crop is rated as moderate, and regrowth rates after mowing as low; however, the variety shows good results as a stubble crop with a single mowing. To achieve high productivity, a high level of nitrogen fertilizers and sufficient moisture are required. When cultivated as a primary crop in early spring, it is possible to obtain 3–4 cuts.
