The Semperweide variety is known from breeding documents and forage crop trial materials from the second half of the 20th century. At present, detailed modern morphological characteristics, yield indicators, or disease resistance data are absent from open databases.

This variety is used in breeding as a parental form or a basis for creating new ryegrass varieties. It belongs to a crop traditionally used for establishing pastures and hayfields, although it appears in modern agronomic reference books as archival source material.
