The variety is an annual self-regenerating grass plant with the ability to naturally disperse seeds. Compared to the Wimmera variety, this form has longer shoots and flag leaves, and also differs in the size of the spike and spikelets.
Under conditions of spring moisture deficit, the variety exhibits adaptive properties, including late heading, which allows for delaying the lignification of tissues and maintaining forage quality for longer. The crop demonstrates high fertility and palatability for livestock.
The primary intended use is pasture grazing, often as part of seed mixtures with legumes to increase the productivity of marginal lands. The variety is also used for the reclamation of quarries, the creation of firebreaks, and as a cover crop in orchards and vineyards.
