Variety description
10 August 2026
The variety is an evergreen plant with a dense, narrow pyramidal crown shape, reaching a height of 4.6 m at ten years of age with a width of 1.5–1.8 m. Leathery dark green leaves have a glossy surface and slight pubescence on the underside.
Cup-shaped flowers up to 4 cm in size are colored a rich dark ruby or red-violet and possess a characteristic fruity aroma resembling bananas. Flowering begins in early spring and continues until summer with sporadic flower emergence until autumn.
The plant possesses increased winter hardiness, withstanding frosts down to USDA zone 7. Due to the compact crown shape, the variety is intended for ornamental use in small gardens where an accent vertical plant is required.
