The variety Bokrastrip (trade name GREEN STRIP) belongs to the Mahonia repens group. The plant is a low-growing shrub 25–50 cm in height with a widely spreading crown, forming a large number of shoots.
Compound leaves 13–20.5 cm long consist of 7–9 ovate, slightly serrated leaflets of matte-green or matte-dark-green color. During the winter period, the foliage may acquire brownish-red or purple shades. The flowers are light-yellow, smaller than those of the species plants.
The variety is used as an ornamental groundcover plant and tolerates container cultivation relatively well. In some specialized materials, it is mentioned as being susceptible to rust.
