Variety description

The rootstock is the result of a cross between the Malus Ottawa 3 hybrid and Malus x robusta Robusta 5. The size of a tree grown on this rootstock is approximately 50–60% of the size of a tree on a seedling rootstock. The plant exhibits tolerance to a complex of diseases during transplanting.
The productivity of the rootstock is comparable to M.26; it propagates easily in stool beds. Unlike many other rootstocks of the Geneva series, G.890 does not require mandatory support in the orchard.
