The variety is an ancient cultivar traditionally grown in Tuscany. By its morphological characteristics, it bears a resemblance to the «Francesca» variety, differing from it by a more intense red coloration of the fruits when exposed to sunlight.

The apple fruits are suitable both for fresh consumption and for culinary processing. The variety is characterized as «rustic», which indicates good adaptation to local climatic conditions.
