The trees of the variety are vigorous and form a powerful crown. Fruit size varies from 120–150 g to 600 g; they possess a sweet-and-sour taste, juicy granular flesh, and a specific strong aroma. The variety type belongs to the autumn or late-autumn maturity groups.

The plant is distinguished by high winter hardiness and relatively high resistance to scab, although it can be affected by the disease in years of epiphytotics. The variety is used for fresh consumption, all types of culinary processing, and soaking. It is widely used in breeding as a donor of winter hardiness and as a rootstock.
