The variety represents a population adapted to local conditions and is included in the Czech genetic resources information system EVIGEZ. The crop is used as medicinal raw material suitable for harvesting leaves (Folium malvae) and flowers (Flos malvae).

Plants of this species reach a height of 80 to 180 cm and can be cultivated as annuals, biennials, or perennials. The main phytosanitary problem during cultivation is susceptibility to mallow rust, caused by the fungus Puccinia malvacearum.
