The variety is an annual or biennial plant with an upright stem reaching a height of over 2 meters. In dense sowing, the stems practically do not branch; in sparse sowing, branching occurs from the base. The leaves are rounded with 5–7 small palmate lobes; the flowers are collected in dense axillary groups, and the corolla color varies from pink to purple.
The plant is used as a forage crop for obtaining green mass, silage production, and grass meal. The variety also serves as a honey-bearing and medicinal plant and can be used as an intermediate crop for green manure or as a source of biomass for energy purposes. The flowering period lasts from July to September.
