The variety is a complex hybrid obtained as a result of crossing Mandevilla × amabilis and Mandevilla boliviensis. It is characterized by a combination of upright and climbing growth types.
The plant belongs to thermophilic tropical crops. In regions with a temperate climate, it is not winter-hardy and is grown primarily as a potted or container crop for landscaping terraces and balconies.
