The Miltoniopsis White Summer hybrid belongs to the genus Miltoniopsis, which is often referred to in trade as the pansy orchid. The plant is a product of crossing Miltoniopsis roezlii and Miltonia Second Love. Derived cultivars, such as White Summer Angel Heart and White Summer Tania, also belong to this hybrid.

The plant is used as an ornamental for cultivation in greenhouses and home conditions. Commercial specimens are characterized by a height of approximately 55 cm when sold in 12 cm diameter pots.
