Variety description

The variety is a triploid hybrid obtained by crossing a tetraploid plantain parent line and a diploid culinary variety. The plant is distinguished by the absence of endogenous banana streak virus (eBSV) sequences, a robust structure, good anchorage, and a large green leaf area.

Yield ranges from 10 to 50 kg per bunch depending on agronomic practices. The crop demonstrates high resistance to black sigatoka, banana weevils, and nematodes, which allows it to be grown without pesticides. The variety shows good adaptability to marginal lands and minimal maintenance.

The fruits are intended for boiling, frying, and industrial processing into flour or chips. The possibility of using the pulp for jam production has been studied. The taste qualities of the variety are rated as intermediate between plantains and dessert bananas, making it a promising raw material for processing.
