The variety belongs to the long-grain (Lungo A) group and may be sold on the Italian market under the name Ribe. The grain has an elongated, tapering shape and a vitreous structure, without a central chalky spot or stripes. The plant is characterized by medium height and lodging resistance.

During maturation, the grain tip develops red pigmentation; harvesting is recommended at a grain moisture content above 20%. The variety is non-aromatic, well-suited for preparing risotto, salads, side dishes, supplì, and arancini, and is also optimal for industrial parboiling.
