The variety is mid-late maturing with a vegetation period of 140–145 days and a stem height of approximately 80 cm. The plant has high tillering capacity and a semi-awned panicle. The grain is translucent, round-shaped, with dimensions of 5.20 by 2.9 mm, a thousand kernel weight of approximately 26.2 g, and an amylose content of 15.40%.

The variety is resistant to lodging and major fungal diseases, including Bipolaris oryzae and Pyricularia oryzae. Agronomic practices suggest a seeding rate of 170–190 kg/ha when sown by mid-May. The variety is traditionally used for risotto production and in experimental sake production.

There is also a variety named Brio of Bangladeshi breeding, which is characterized by photoperiod sensitivity and is an independent entity, distinct from this Italian variety.
