The variety possesses grain with an average amylose content (about 17.7%) and low stickiness. When cooked, the grain becomes large, soft on the outside, but retains a dense internal structure, which ensures an al dente consistency.
The plant has high susceptibility to the rice blast disease, due to which the variety is often used for scientific purposes as a control sample for creating conditions of artificial infection of plantations.
