The variety is classified as a high-yielding genotype. In comparative studies of physicochemical properties, Meco is assigned to the group of varieties with relatively low grain length values. Indicators of leaf sheath length during germination are also noted.

This variety is used in agricultural production in Italy. There is information on the use of this variety in scientific research dedicated to the study of disease resistance, in particular to rice blast.
