Variety description

The variety is classified as medium-grain rice (Medio). The grain length is 6.6 mm, the width is 2.4 mm, and the shape is affusolate. The pericarp is black, the endosperm is non-glutinous, and the white spot in the center of the grain characteristic of many varieties is absent.

This variety is whole-grain (integrale) and requires about 35 minutes to cook. The high amylose content prevents overcooking and helps the grain retain its shape. In literature, the variety is mentioned in studies focused on susceptibility to rice blast (Pyricularia oryzae).
