Variety description

The plant forms dense bushes 90 to 100 cm in height with large dark green leathery foliage that retains its ornamental appearance until the end of the season. The stems are upright, rigid, and resistant to lodging.

The flowers are large, up to 14 cm in diameter, and have a Japanese type structure. The outer petals are cherry-red or amaranth-purple, while the center features a pompom of modified stamens (staminodes) of a yellow or yellow-pink shade with ragged edges.

The variety is winter-hardy and long-lived, capable of growing in one place for up to 20 years. Flowering occurs in June. The plant is used in mixed borders and is suitable for cut flowers, with buds opening well in a vase.
