The variety was bred at the M. M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden of the NAS of Ukraine during a breeding program aimed at creating peonies with early flowering periods. The breeding process involved methods of distant hybridization with the participation of Paeonia peregrina, P. wittmanniana, P. arietina species, as well as P. lactiflora and P. officinalis varieties.

The plant belongs to the category of very early varieties, the flowering of which begins in the second ten-day period of May. The selection of the variety was aimed at improving agronomic characteristics, including productivity and adaptability.
