The plant reaches 10–20 meters in height with an annual growth of 1–2 meters. Large matte leaves consist of five leaflets, colored dark green in summer. The vine climbs supports using tendrils with adhesive discs.
Flowering occurs in June–August with inconspicuous greenish-white flowers. The fruits are dark blue berries, ripening in autumn and not suitable for consumption.
The variety is characterized by high winter hardiness, is undemanding to growing conditions, and develops well in ordinary garden soils. It can grow in both sunny areas and partial shade, while not tolerating extremely dry and poor soils.
