The Phalaenopsis Chian Xen Piano variety was obtained as a result of crossing Phalaenopsis Jiuhbao Victoria and Phalaenopsis Chian Xen Mammon. Its genetic composition is dominated by shares of the species Phal. amabilis, Phal. rimestadiana, Phal. schilleriana, and Phal. aphrodite.
The 'CX339' clone is a tetraploid plant with a chromosome set of 2n = 4x = 76. In the professional community, the hybrid is used as collection and breeding material for developing new orchid varieties with improved flower shape or color characteristics.
