There exists a historical officially registered grex Phalaenopsis Springtime, obtained as a result of crossing Phalaenopsis Summer Cloud and Phalaenopsis Doris. Its genetic background includes the species Phalaenopsis amabilis and Phalaenopsis aphrodite.

In modern trade, the name «Springtime» is often a commercial designation for specific batches of plants supplied from nurseries and does not always indicate a unique breeding variety with fixed morphological characteristics.
