The variety is a vigorous pole bean. The variety name is associated with the unusually large size of the white seeds, which, due to their size, are also called potato beans.
Plants of this variety are suitable for use as green beans when harvesting young pods, as well as for grain production at full maturity. Due to its vigorous growth, the variety is often used as a barrier crop to protect less resistant bean species.
