The variety belongs to the grain types of beans. It is actively used in breeding programs as a parental form for the development of new varieties, as well as source material for obtaining mutant lines using chemical mutagens for the study of drought tolerance.

In scientific publications, the variety is described as susceptible to the pathogen of bacterial blight of beans, while exhibiting moderate or high resistance to a number of races of the halo blight pathogen. During studies of physiological characteristics, it was established that this variety possesses a relatively low ability to accumulate the radionuclide cesium-134 in its seeds.

The variety often serves as a standard when conducting morphological evaluations, such as measuring leaf parameters, and is also used in biotechnological experiments, including in vitro plant regeneration methods.
