Drentse Kievitsboon is an heirloom variety originating from the sandy soils of the Drenthe province. The plant is of the bush type and is intended for harvest as a dry product.
The seeds have a characteristic appearance: brown-pink speckles on a light background. The variety is adapted to the climatic conditions of the Netherlands and has a delicate flavor with a pronounced nutty note.
Recommended sowing times fall in May. Planting is carried out at 10 cm intervals in the row or in clusters of 3–4 seeds with a spacing of 30 cm and row spacing of 40 cm.
