Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety was obtained by backcrossing to introduce resistance to bean common mosaic virus into the Taylor’s Horticultural variety. The plant is a bush bean with a determinate plant habit, with a height ranging from 45 to 60 cm.

The maturity period of the variety varies from 81 to 92 days. The variety belongs to the Cranberry (borlotto) group, which is characterized by light-colored pods and seeds with red streaks. The variety possesses the I gene, providing resistance to bean common mosaic virus, but it may show susceptibility to anthracnose and bacterial blight.

The variety is versatile and is suitable both for fresh consumption at the immature bean stage and for dry grain production. Dry seeds are characterized by a relatively fast cooking time.
