The Harvest King variety is a bush variety of Phaseolus vulgaris, also known by the breeding number 1230. The plant forms medium-sized fleshy green pods; the seeds are white.

The variety belongs to the category of snap beans and is characterized as high-yielding. The maturity period is comparable to the Improved Tendergreen variety. From 1946 to 1968, the variety underwent breeding trials and was used as a parental form in the creation of other varieties, for example, Stretch.
