The variety belongs to the wax bean group with flat pods about 10 cm long, which do not contain fibers. The seeds are wine-dreg colored. The plant has traditionally been used for fresh consumption, and for processing in case of surplus harvest.
The growth type in historical documents is classified as pole bean, however, mentions of a bush form are found in a number of sources, which indicates the possible existence of different breeding lines.
