Quedlinburger Speck is a vigorous climbing bean that reaches a height of 1.5–2 meters and has dense foliage. The variety forms long, almost straight, medium-green pods that are round-oval in shape. A feature of the fruits is the absence of tough fibers even when the seeds mature.
The seeds of the variety are white and round-oval in shape. The plant is resistant to mosaic virus but is susceptible to bacterial blight, rust, and grey mold. Cultivation requires sunny areas with well-drained, humus-rich soils.
