Variety description

10 August 2026

The pinto-type dry bean variety is a compact bush plant with a height of 45–60 cm. The seeds are of medium size with a beige color and red-brown speckles. The variety is distinguished by good yield, uniform maturation, and drought tolerance; during culinary processing, it possesses a creamy texture and an earthy flavor. In agronomic studies, this variety is used as a control sample sensitive to aluminum stress and white mold.

The name Quincy is also found in commercial registries referring to a dwarf green bean variety (Dwarf French Bean). Since the name has a geographical origin, it is important to distinguish between these two uses, as they represent different types of products for different markets.
