The variety forms a compact bush 50–60 cm tall. Pods are of medium length, green with red stripes, and have a cylindrical or slightly curved shape.
Seeds are kidney-shaped and compressed, cream-colored with light or bright red streaks, and are distinguished by their thin skin. The variety is intended for threshing and use in dry form, valued for its resistance to prolonged boiling.
When grown in Italy, the variety is often used as a double-crop, sown in June–July with harvest in September–October.
