The Ramona variety belongs to hexaploid types of Timothy grass. In a number of European classifications, it is classified as a late-maturing variety.
The name Ramona is also found in variety lists for other forage crops, in particular for white clover (Trifolium repens L.), which requires a careful approach when identifying the variety in publications.
