The variety belongs to the group of wrinkled peas, known in German terminology as 'Markerbse'. This defines its main economic purpose, associated with the processing industry, namely the production of canned and frozen products.
In a number of European variety lists, the variety previously appeared as a standard sample against which other breeding achievements were compared during state trials. At the moment, the variety has been excluded from official registers.
