The Eritreo line is not a commercial variety and is intended for use in breeding programs. It carries the Er3 resistance gene in a homozygous state (Er3Er3), providing protection against powdery mildew caused by the fungi Erysiphe pisi and Erysiphe trifolii.
The resistance mechanism is based on a post-penetration hypersensitive response of the plant. In field experiments, the line demonstrated a high level of protection, where the pathogen infection level did not exceed 10%.
Scientific information on Eritreo is focused exclusively on genetic aspects, such as mapping the Er3 gene and the use of molecular markers. Data on morphological traits, vegetation period, and agronomic productivity are absent from publications.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
More 1 record protections in other jurisdictions are shown on the map above.
