The variety «Мазепа» was developed by specialists of the Poltava State Agrarian University as part of the work of the scientific school of field crop breeding. The plant is included in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine.
In scientific research, the variety is considered primarily in the context of the dynamics of raw above-ground mass accumulation. The plant mass indices of the variety vary depending on the vegetation phases and the application of mineral fertilizers.
