The Re del mercato variety is a wrinkled-seeded pea (pisello a grano rugoso) that is legally and agronomically identical to the Alderman variety. It is known by a multitude of synonyms, including Admiral Dewey, Almirante Dewey, Australia enrame, Buonissimo d'Ingegnoli, Floreta, Rey de los mercados, and Roi des Halles.
This name has historically been used to identify the Alderman variety on the Italian market. Official registers do not distinguish Re del mercato as an independent unit; therefore, its characteristics correspond to the Alderman variety.
