The Salome pea variety is included in the official variety registers of a number of European countries. In agronomic descriptions, it is characterized by a straight, upright growth habit. Detailed parameters, such as plant height or maturity group, are presented in summary variety trial tables as codes that require reference to specialized full variety descriptors.
In scientific literature, the variety is mentioned in the context of research on genetic transformation and plant physiology. Given the specialization of the breeding company, the variety is considered primarily agricultural, however, it should be distinguished from ornamental or garden pea varieties with similar names.
