Variety description

The pea variety Skinado belongs to the mid-late maturity group and matures approximately 8 days later than the variety Avola. To reach technical maturity, the variety requires a sum of active temperatures of about 870 units at a base temperature of 4.5 °C.
The plant has a standard leaf type and a stem length of about 90 cm; the first fruit-bearing node forms at the 12th node. One pod contains on average 8 large-sized wrinkled dark green seeds. The thousand kernel weight is about 160 g, and the crude protein content reaches 27.4%.
The variety possesses high resistance to Fusarium wilt caused by Fop 1. Scientific publications have also examined the tolerance of this pea to stress factors, including soil salinity and allelopathic effects.
