The Torda variety belongs to the afila type (plants without leaflets, with tendrils). It is a late-maturing variety with a medium stem height, which is notable for its strength and resistance to lodging, allowing it to support the mass of maturing seeds.
Pods are of medium length, slightly curved, with a pointed tip. One pod contains 8–9 peas, the thousand kernel weight is about 180 grams. At the stage of technical maturity, the seeds have a dark green color.
The variety is resistant to Fusarium wilt and downy mildew. It is intended for industrial use, particularly for canning and freezing, due to the uniformity of the seeds and the morphological characteristics of the plant.
