The plant forms a strong turf due to a developed root system. A characteristic morphological feature is hollow stems, which have an oval, strongly flattened shape in cross-section.

The variety is adapted for growth in extreme conditions on dry, poor, sandy, and stony soils. Due to its specific nature, it is used for grassing difficult areas, reinforcing road embankments, and controlling erosion. In standard lawn or forage use, it is rarely applied due to low productivity compared to other species.
