The plant forms a dense sod and reaches a height of 25–50 cm depending on conditions. The leaves are stiff, bright green. Inflorescences in the form of small pale brown spikes appear rarely, mainly in the summer period.
The variety is used as an indoor crop, a plant for winter gardens or landscape design in warm regions. In cultivation, it prefers bright locations without direct sunlight, high air humidity, and abundant watering. When grown, it requires a nutritious permeable substrate and protection from waterlogging, which causes root rot.
