The Cinderella variety is a vigorously growing low-growing plant 10–20 cm in height and 30–40 cm in width. There are contradictions in botanical classification: it is attributed to both Portulaca grandiflora and Portulaca oleracea, often being considered an interspecific hybrid.

The flowers have a bicolored appearance with a purple-red pompon-shaped center and a ring of yellow petals. The plant prefers bright sun and well-drained soils. It is drought-tolerant but sensitive to waterlogging, which provokes root and stem rot.

The variety is used as an annual ground cover or container plant, suitable for borders, hanging baskets, and rock gardens.
