Variety description

The variety is a heavily branching annual with reddish stems and thick, bright green leaves, which differ from the needle-like leaves of classic Portulaca grandiflora by their flat shape. The plant reaches a height of 7–15 cm.
The variety is drought-tolerant and is used in ornamental gardening as a ground cover plant for borders, rock gardens, and hanging baskets. At the same time, the crop is noted for its sensitivity to ethylene exposure, which causes leaf drop.
