The Royal Persian variety is known by the synonyms Orange, Early Orange, Royal Orange, Royal George, and Persian. The fruits are medium-sized and round-shaped with a well-defined suture and a deep cavity at the stem.

The fruit skin is firm and orange in color, sometimes with a blush on the sunny side. The dark orange flesh is characterized as semi-dry and partially clinging to the stone.

The fruits are considered mediocre for fresh consumption, but are highly valued for canning and baking, and they can be used before reaching full coloration.
