The fruits are large, elongated, slightly flattened at the sides, with orange-yellow skin and a red blush. The flesh is orange, juicy, has a sweet-and-sour taste, and separates well from the pit. Fruit ripening occurs in the first half of July.

The tree prefers warm sites and sandy soils, is self-fertile, and has a tendency toward alternate bearing. The variety shows relative resistance to spring frosts. Susceptibility to phytoplasmosis is noted, although the potential tolerance of old trees to this disease is being studied.
