The Fracasso variety is native to the Campania region of Italy. The tree of this variety is self-fertile and does not require pollinator varieties. The variety demonstrates resistance to plum pox virus and high resistance of fruits to decay during storage.

The fruits are of medium size, have an elongated shape and a fine flesh texture. The variety is distinguished by a high content of ascorbic acid and flavor qualities with floral-herbal notes. Fruit ripening occurs in the second ten days of July.
