Variety description

10 August 2026

MARIANNA 2624 is a hybrid of cherry plum and Munson plum, intended for use as a rootstock for plum, apricot, and certain almond varieties. Trees grafted onto it reach a height of 3–4.5 meters. The rootstock propagates well by cuttings but is distinguished by intensive formation of root suckers and weak anchorage, often requiring support.

The plant possesses high resistance to Armillaria, nematodes, bacterial root rot, and root asphyxia. At the same time, the variety is characterized by susceptibility to bacterial canker of stems and branches. The rootstock is incompatible with peach and nectarine, and may also exhibit incompatibility with some almond varieties.
